Getting started
How do I start accepting payments?
Create a free account, add your bank details, then create a payment link or connect your store from the dashboard.
How do I create a checkout session?
Call POST /api/gateway/v1/checkout with your secret key. Pass amount, currency, customer email, and redirect URLs. See the full reference on API docs.
How do webhooks work?
Register a webhook URL in your dashboard. Wavy sends HMAC-signed POST requests on payment events (payment.successful, payment.failed). Verify the signature with your webhook secret before trusting the payload.
Why do I need bank setup?
Settlement goes directly to your Nigerian bank account via Flutterwave. Bank details link your merchant account so successful payments can be credited to you.
How do I verify a transaction status?
Use GET /api/gateway/v1/transactions/:tx_ref with your secret key, or the public tracking endpoint GET /api/payments/tracking/:tx_ref. You can also use the Track page.
Is there a WooCommerce plugin?
Yes. Download the official Wavy Payment Gateway plugin from your dashboard. It integrates via the Gateway API and supports webhooks, HPOS, and connection testing.
What are the fees?
No monthly platform fee. Per-transaction fees are ₦50 flat for orders up to ₦10,000, or 1% (capped at ₦1,000) above that. See pricing.
Is the API up?
Check live status at status.wavy.ng or poll GET /api/status from your monitoring stack.
